Our History

Weber & S.D.W., Inc. is a family owned and operated company that has served the Central Florida area since 1973. The company was originally started by Jerry and Barbara Weber, along with their three sons and daughter. This is where the S(sons) D(daughter) W(wife) comes from in the company name. The company is now owned and operated by their oldest son Michael (Mike) G. Weber, and their son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Matherly, Jr., with assistance from both of their wives and eight children

When Jerry and Barbara Weber moved their family to Central Florida from Michigan in 1972 they were searching for warmer weather so Jerry could continue to practice his craft in the construction industry. Jerry, a brick mason by trade, enjoyed working with his hands and being outdoors. When the company opened for business in 1973, Jerry specialized in masonry fireplaces, remodels, and room additions with the motto, “No Job Too Small”. Barbara maintained the books and prepared proposals, while their four children grew up helping out with the company. The business proved to be successful.

Mike, the oldest son, went to work full-time for the company in 1979. His knowledge of the business developed through his teen years as he worked with his father. Mike was awarded his Building Contractors License in 1985. Prior to 1995 all of the required blueprints were drawn by Mike. Bob began working part-time for the company in 1980 while attending college. Jerry taught Bob the art of brick laying and the skills necessary for working in construction. Bob was awarded his Building Contractors License in 1996. Nancy, Jerry & Barbara’s only daughter and Bob’s wife, began working for the company in 1987, gradually taking over the bookkeeping from her mother. Using the Audo-cad program Nancy now also handles all of the blueprint drawing. Mike and Bob periodically take classes to further their knowledge of the construction industry. The constant change in construction requirements, laws, and products make this vital to providing quality workmanship.

Today Jerry and Barbara are retired but the dedication to and quality of service continues. Weber & S.D.W.’s motto is still “No Job Too Small” evidenced in the fact that Mike and Bob will replace a door or pour a concrete slab as well as build a custom home to owner’s specifications. Over the past 30+ years Weber & S.D.W. has built several custom homes along with specializing in kitchen and bath remodels, room additions, mother-in-law suites, porch enclosures, screen rooms, outdoor kitchens and lanai fireplaces, garages, bonus rooms, masonry, prefab fireplaces and so much more.
